Sometimes people have some kind of Personal Firewalls running on their desktops to protect themselves from the evil outside. Out-of-the-box, these tend to be configured to block the above mentioned HTTP_REFERER. I cannot imagine any reason why this blocking behaviour should be useful in any way, but in fact it prevents your browser from downloading Sambar. Switch it off, do yourself a favour on the long run, too: there are quite some pages out there that use the HTTP_REFERER feature.

Another common reason for failing downloads derives from the same fact of not supporting the wanted HTTP_REFERER by using a download tool such as GetRight or similar, having it configured the to fake the HTTP_REFERER, ie. to not use it. Again, it's useless, switch it off.

To overcome these problems you may want to use a system that supports the above described requirement. For sure you may contact me on how to enable HTTP_REFERER on your firewall or download manager. See the contact page for details.
